A follow up to our May article (http://www.bodyworkkneaded.com/counting-sheep/) on optimal sleep: Poor sleep has already been linked to heart disease, stroke, depression, kidney disease and obesity.   A study done in Norway and published in the journal Pain looked at people with insomnia and poor sleep quality and assessed their pain tolerance.  They found a positive relationship between sleep and pain with poor sleep and insomnia being related to greater pain sensitivity.  For more information on the negative effects of poor sleep, see
